Michael Stevenson is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of rising star Nandipha Mntambo. Born in Swaziland in 1982, Mntambo graduates in June with a Masters degree in Fine Art with distinction from the Michaelis School, University of Cape Town. She has already received critical notice as one of five young artists selected for the 2006 MTN New Contemporaries exhibition at Johannesburg Art Gallery.Read more

Tintsaba crafts; The art of master weaving

In recent years women in Swaziland have transformed their traditional craft of basket weaving into a vehicle for artistic expression. At the forefront of this transformation has been Tintsaba Crafts. They will be holding an Exhibition under the theme; Twisting Sisters: The Art of master weaving sisal at the Standard Bank Gallery from 12th June to 14th July 2007. The Gallery hours are: Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:30; Saturday, 09:00-13:00, closed on Sundays and public holidays. Admission is free. Read more
